Dr. Lapollo
Dr. Justin Lapollo was raised in east Tennessee and graduated from high school at Farragut High School. He obtained his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in Psychology and later graduated from the Virgina College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2009. He did his residency training in Hawaii at Tripler Army Medical Center.
He has served in numerous clinical and administrative leadership roles during his 15 years working as a clinical psychiatrist, both in the active-duty military as well as the private sector. While in the Army these positions included: Division Psychiatrist and Deputy Department Chief for the Department of Behavioral Health at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart Georgia, and Senior Psychiatrist with the 254th Combat Operational Stress Control Unit in Baumholder Germany.
As a civilian psychiatrist he has worked as a consultant in tele-psychiatry (both inpatient and emergency settings as well as outpatient) and in community mental health. He opened Maryville Psychiatry in 2021 following his departure from active-duty service.
He specializes in offering full spectrum outpatient psychiatric treatment including psychiatric medication management, individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) mapping/treatment, and Ketamine treatment. He is comfortable seeing both children/adolescents and adults (including the elderly).
Summer Rhodes
Summer completed her nursing degree at Lincoln Memorial University in 2011, where she graduated with highest honors. This foundational education provided Summer with a comprehensive understanding of patient care, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices. Building on this foundation, Summer pursued further education and training, earning a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatry/mental health from East Tennessee State University in 2019.
Summer’s journey into the mental health field began in 2011, when she worked as a registered nurse specializing in psychiatry at a residential facility for adolescents. She went on to spend the next several years working with critically ill patients in medical-surgical and neurological intensive care units. Following completion of her MSN, Summer began her career as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Summer has worked in various clinical settings within a community mental health organization, including outpatient clinics, crisis stabilization units, residential treatment programs, a medically-monitored detoxification unit, and a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.
With several years of experience as a PMHNP, Summer has developed a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the impact it has on individuals, families, and communities. Summer believes in a holistic approach to mental health, emphasizing the integration of evidence-based practices, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy to promote optimal patient outcomes. She works collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a healing and supportive environment. She is dedicated to educating and empowering the individuals she serves, and her patients appreciate her non-judgmental approach and the safe space she creates for open and honest communication.
kirsten collier
Kirsten is a dedicated healthcare professional with a rich background in various nursing disciplines. After earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Florida Southwestern State College in Ft. Myers, FL, in 2012, she embarked on her career in medical-surgical nursing. This foundational experience allowed her to develop strong clinical skills, which she later applied in home health and hospice care, where she provided compassionate support to patients in their most vulnerable moments.
In 2017, Kirsten relocated to East Tennessee, where she discovered her true calling in psychiatric mental health. Since then, she has been passionately committed to the mental health field, where her focus has been on delivering the highest quality care to her patients. Her approach is centered on empathy, understanding, and a deep commitment to improving the well-being of those she serves.
Beyond her professional life, Kirsten is an avid explorer of the Great Smoky Mountains, often spending her free time hiking and enjoying the natural beauty of the region. She also loves attending live music events and cherishes moments spent with her family, which provide her with the balance and inspiration needed to excel in her demanding role. Kirsten's blend of experience, passion, and dedication makes her a valued member of any healthcare team.
bethanie wilson
Bethanie Wilson is a dynamic Practice Manager with a rich background in both therapy and military service, making her uniquely qualified to lead and support mental health teams. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, Bethanie pursued advanced studies, obtaining a Master’s Degree with a dual emphasis in Professional Clinical Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. Her academic achievements are complemented by her four years of honorable service in the United States Navy, where she gained invaluable experience and a deep appreciation for serving both military and civilian populations.
Bethanie's extensive experience spans over five years and includes work in private practices, outpatient clinics, telepsychology platforms, non-profit organizations, crisis intervention, and research environments. Her diverse background equips her with a holistic understanding of mental health needs across different settings. As a Practice Manager, Bethanie is dedicated to fostering a supportive and efficient work environment, ensuring that both staff and patients receive the highest quality care. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to excellence, an empathetic approach to management, and a passion for improving mental health services in every community she serves.
